wHAT IS bEHAVIOuRISM ANYWAY?
At one point in time, behaviourism was the only theory as to how people acquired knowledge. In recent times, it seems to have been replaced wholly, or in part, by contructivism and other approaches. The most common form of behaviourism in practice today is that of classroom management. Reward systems, claps and things of the like are all used to keep learners centered in on-task behaviour.
Human behaviour's predictability is the main premise of behaviourism; we learn new behaviours then modify. This theory looks at psychology as a science, focusing on observing and measuring explicit behaviours that can be measured objectively. The subject's thoughts are not a consideration in behaviourist theory.

Central Tenets of Behaviourism
1. Scientific psychology must focus on the relationship between environmental contingencies and behaviour, rather than on the presumed contents of consciousness.
2. The principles governing behaviour of humans and other animals are essentially identical . (1)
